Allison Coleman is a California Central Coast based multimedia artist. She began her exploration and studying of expression through art as a child and continues. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree as well as two Associate of Arts degrees. Many of her pieces fuse: expressionism, surrealism, and representational qualities with multimedia.
She began teaching art at an art studio based out of Glendale, CA. At the time, the studio had over 20 different locations in Southern California. Once she left, she began showing her art at a variety of locations around the Los Angeles area. She later worked as a freelance artist in addition to teaching art.
Ms. Coleman assisted in creating an early childhood art program at a private day school in Southern California, where she worked for over 8 years. This art program centered on the exploration of mediums, techniques and styles which allowed children to express themselves in a multi-dimensional, multi-media, free flowing art opportunity. Once relocating to the California Central Coast art continued to be a part of Ms. Coleman's life. She had expanded into body movements as a 4 dimensional form of expression. Her journey had led her to yoga as well as meditation, and the bliss she experienced was expressed in her work. Her current pieces focus on the themes of mindfulness, meditation, peace, tranquility and yoga. She looks forward to finding new methods of expression as she continues her travels through life.
